Pakyong District is a newly formed district in the Indian state of Sikkim. The district was formed in 2021 from three former subdivisions of the East Sikkim district, viz., Pakyong Subdivision, Rangpo Subdivision and Rongli Subdivision.
The new district includes both the Greenfield Airport in Pakyong and the upcoming Majhitar Railway Station. Along with aerial and rail connectivity, four National Highways also fall in the new district, including NH-10, NH-717A, NH-717B and Rolep-Menla National Highway.
The newly formed Pakyong District lacks thereof, a District Hospital to cater to the needs of the growing population as the district has health care facilities only pertaining to Public Health Centres (PHC).
